The Setting
The Schoenstatt Spirituality Centre in Mulgoa is a peaceful retreat space offering spiritual programs and quiet reflection. One of the Centre’s main areas — a large conference room with a full wall of glass — had begun to experience significant thermal loss. Rising energy costs and poor sealing were making the space difficult to manage in both summer and winter.
The Challenge
The client needed a solution that would preserve the visual appeal of the glass wall while drastically improving thermal performance and eliminating condensation. As a spiritual venue, it was also important to engage a local company that could carry out works with sensitivity and minimal disruption. Craig from Zeus Soundproofing was invited to assess the situation. After inspecting the space and understanding the Centre’s concerns, he returned with a solution tailored specifically for the large-format windows.
The Zeus Solution
Zeus designed and installed custom-made, large-format double-glazed windows using high-performance thermal laminated glass. The units were engineered to suit the size and structural requirements of the space, with the primary goal of maximising thermal efficiency while maintaining a sleek, unobtrusive aesthetic. Installation required careful manoeuvring due to the scale and weight of the panels, as well as limited access. Despite the complexity, the Zeus team completed the works on time and left the site spotless — with no visible trace of construction.
The Outcome
The results have been impressive: – Noticeable reduction in both heat gain and heat loss – No more condensation forming on the interior glass – Improved year-round comfort for events and gatherings The Centre is now planning to upgrade other windows across the site with the same Zeus system.
