THE THINGS YOU WANT BACK
TV up. Conversation paused.
Sleep interrupted.
If aircraft noise is taking over the way you live at home, tell us what you hear and which rooms matter most.
Had enough of the interruptions?
Rest and sleep
A bedroom where passing aircraft are less intrusive—whether you sleep at night or work shifts.
Conversation and TV
Less need to pause a conversation or reach for the remote when a plane goes over.
Work and study
A more comfortable space for video calls, concentration, homework and time at your desk.
A calmer place to unwind
Practical options for people who find sudden changes in sound particularly intrusive.
FOR NIGHT-SHIFT AND ROSTERED WORKERS
You work nights.
You still deserve
quiet days.
Your bedroom needs to work around your shift—not the flight schedule.
Daytime sleep matters. Tell us when you need to rest, what wakes you and where the aircraft noise seems strongest.
Bedroom soundproofing for shift workers starts with the window, roof, ceiling and other noise paths. We can prioritise the room where you rest and discuss ventilation alongside the treatment.
AIRCRAFT NOISE, SLEEP & WELLBEING
Poor sleep follows you
into the day.
Environmental noise can disturb sleep. Repeated disruption deserves attention, and sleep difficulties can have several causes.
Running on empty
Too little sleep can leave you tired and irritable, making everyday demands and relationships harder to manage.
Slower to react
Poor sleep can affect concentration, decision-making and reaction times, with consequences for work and driving safety.
More than feeling tired
Ongoing sleep deprivation is linked with increased risks of high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and depression. Individual risk depends on many factors.
A quieter bedroom is one part of a supportive sleep environment. Zeus can assess noise entering your home. Soundproofing does not diagnose or treat a sleep disorder, or guarantee a health outcome. If sleep difficulties persist or tiredness affects daily life, speak with your GP.

LOOK BEYOND THE GLASS
Where aircraft noise
can get into your home.
Explore a typical home below. Select a numbered point or open an area to see what we look at.
Follow the noise into a typical home
Explore the seven noise pathsOne untreated opening can limit the result.
We look for the dominant routes before recommending a product or a whole-home package.
01Windows, glass and frames
Glass, seals, frame condition and installation all matter.
We assess: existing windows, available reveal depth, access and opening requirements. Zeus SilentView secondary glazing or a replacement system may be suitable.

02Roof, ceiling, eaves and skylights
Overhead noise can enter through the roof and ceiling assembly.
We assess: accessible construction, insulation, ceiling openings, eaves and skylights. The design may include a SilentBarrier ceiling, subject to structure, height and access.

03Doors, jambs and thresholds
Gaps around doors can undermine an otherwise effective treatment.
We assess: the door leaf, frame, hardware and fit. Options include joinery repairs, suitable door upgrades and SilentSeal perimeter and threshold seals.

04Walls and building junctions
Sound may pass through lighter construction or around an upgraded surface.
We assess: wall type, junctions and accessible cavities. A SilentCore wall treatment is considered where the wall is a relevant noise path.

05Vents, air-conditioning and fresh air
Ventilation openings also provide a path for sound.
We assess: brick vents, ducts, exhausts and air intakes. We consider suitable acoustic ventilation or baffles as part of the complete treatment. Required ventilation must be maintained.

06Small gaps and service penetrations
Cracks and unsealed openings deserve attention alongside the major surfaces.
We assess: visible frame gaps, ceiling penetrations, access hatches and service entries. Repairs and sealing are specified for the construction and service involved.
07Low rumble, rattles and indirect paths
A deep rumble and a rattling sash may need different investigations.
We assess: what you hear, when it happens and which components move. Complex low-frequency or vibration concerns may need an acoustic engineer before a treatment is selected.

INDEPENDENT ADVICE. YOUR HOME FIRST.
Chosen for your family.
Not for a supplier.
Zeus is not owned by a product supplier.
We have access to a broad range of soundproofing and thermal products. We are not biased towards one particular product: we recommend what best suits you, your family and the way your home is built.
That means looking at the noise, comfort, appearance, budget and how you use each room—then choosing the combination that fits.
A PLAN THAT SUITS THE PROPERTY
The right Zeus system.
In the right place.
Your proposal sets out the selected system, installation scope and the work required around it.
The SilentView range
Retain suitable existing windows with secondary glazing, choose a removable panel system, or consider replacement windows where that better suits the property.
SilentView
Secondary glazing specified to suit the opening and noise concern.
SilentView Ultra
Premium acoustic glazing configurations selected for the project.
SilentView MagneSeal
Removable magnetic secondary glazing with a SilentShield Clear polymer panel.
SilentView Signature
Premium uPVC tilt-and-turn acoustic glazing system.
SilentBarrier
When aircraft noise enters through the roof and ceiling, the treatment needs to address that construction. SilentBarrier combines selected ceiling materials and installation details to suit the room, available headroom and existing structure.
Ceiling cavity insulation
Insulation selected for the accessible cavity, with acoustic and thermal requirements considered together.
Resilient ceiling supports
Where appropriate, mounts and framing reduce rigid connections between the new lining and the structure above.
Layered acoustic linings
Acoustic plasterboard, membranes and other barrier materials can form part of the specified ceiling assembly.
Sealing and finishing
Ceiling edges, access hatches, lights and services need coordinated detailing. Cornice, patching and painting are identified in the proposal.
Planned around your home
We check ceiling height, support requirements, access and services before setting the scope. The proposal states whether the existing ceiling is retained or removed and the proposed finished height.
SilentCore
SilentCore addresses walls identified as a relevant noise path. Options depend on whether the home has masonry or lightweight walls, the room layout and how much space is available for an internal upgrade.
Wall cavity insulation
Where accessible, suitable acoustic insulation can be included within the wall cavity.
Acoustic lining upgrades
Selected plasterboard layers and barrier materials add to the wall treatment, with joints and edges detailed as a system.
Separate wall linings
An independent or resiliently supported lining may be considered where the construction and available room space allow.
Junctions and services
Window reveals, skirting, wall-to-ceiling junctions, power points and other openings are considered alongside the main wall surface.
Planned around your home
Your proposal explains the wall build-out, affected joinery and services, and the agreed finishes. Treating a wall alone may leave noise travelling through adjoining areas.
SilentSeal
A small opening around a door can let sound into the room. SilentSeal brings the door, frame, seals and threshold together, with joinery repairs or a door upgrade where the existing entrance needs more than new seals.
Perimeter seals
Seals around the head and jambs are selected to suit the door, available clearances and how it closes.
Drop seals and thresholds
A suitable bottom seal and threshold address the gap beneath the door while preserving practical operation.
Door and frame repairs
We assess loose hinges, uneven gaps, worn jambs, latches and door fit before choosing the sealing arrangement.
Door and joinery upgrades
Where needed, the scope can include a suitable solid-core or engineered timber door, frame repairs, hardware and finishing.
Planned around your home
Seals can also reduce draughts. Any existing fire-door requirements, access needs and required ventilation must be considered when selecting the treatment.
Results depend on the aircraft noise, existing building, chosen system and installation. A product’s laboratory rating does not equal the reduction achieved inside every home. Zeus does not guarantee complete silence.
QUIETER SHOULD STILL FEEL COMFORTABLE
Soundproofing.
Thermal comfort.
A home that still works.
We discuss window operation, blinds and shutters, heritage character, daylight, ventilation and access before choosing the installation.
If the plan relies on keeping windows closed, fresh-air and cooling arrangements need to be considered at the same time. A standard split-system air-conditioner should not be assumed to supply outdoor air.
Noise control, thermal comfort and moisture management need to work together.
What can thermal imaging show?
Surface-temperature patterns can help guide a closer inspection of insulation and possible air leakage. The findings need to be interpreted alongside the building and the conditions at the time.
A thermal camera does not measure sound transmission. Acoustic assessment is needed to investigate aircraft-noise paths and suitable soundproofing treatments.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS
Before you invest
in soundproofing.
Start with what is affecting your home. Then choose the scope.
Will new windows solve all the aircraft noise?
They may be an important part of the solution, but roof, vent and other paths can still matter. We inspect before recommending window-only works.
Is double glazing always the best option?
No single glass label gives the full answer. Glass selection, air gap, frames and seals influence performance. We compare secondary and replacement glazing against your existing windows and the noise you want to reduce.
Can I treat the bedrooms first?
We can discuss a staged proposal focused on your priority rooms. The inspection helps establish which supporting works belong in that stage and what would remain untreated.
Can you fix the deep rumble or vibration?
We need to establish the cause before promising a result. Describe any rattling, vibration or low rumble separately. Specialist investigation may be needed to set an appropriate design and expectation.
Will foam panels, curtains or ceiling clouds do it?
Absorption can reduce echo inside a room. It does not replace a sound-isolation treatment for aircraft noise entering through the building.
What about my backyard or outdoor entertaining area?
Indoor treatments do not make outdoor areas quiet. A normal boundary fence cannot be expected to shield a home from aircraft overhead. Outdoor concerns need a separate, realistic discussion.
How much does aircraft-noise soundproofing cost?
The site assessment is $149, credited towards accepted Zeus works. Installation is quoted separately according to the rooms, dimensions, construction, access and finishes. We do not give a whole-house price without establishing the scope.
Can you guarantee a percentage reduction?
No universal percentage reliably describes every property or flyover. We discuss the expected outcome and any supporting test information for the specified system. Where a measured performance target is required, appropriate assessment and testing need to be agreed.
I’m renting or in strata. Can I still enquire?
Yes. Let us know your situation so the options account for the owner’s or owners corporation’s approval. Removable glazing may be worth discussing; suitability and permission still need checking.
Is this part of an airport-funded insulation scheme?
This is an enquiry for privately commissioned Zeus work. We cannot determine scheme eligibility or promise reimbursement. Check any funding arrangement with the relevant scheme administrator before committing.
